Filled with gratitude and thanks until their ankles get clamped

Plus political prisoners, don’t get the attention they deserve

Their causes unheard while ‘rap’ sheets of rappers’ get preserved

Since the Beast promotes capitalism at any cost like selling our souls

As a whole we can make progress but as individuals we create holes

Since too many mongrels utilize Rap to advance in corrupt society

With no sobriety, drunk off the allure of sex, money and notoriety

Platinum and diamonds chains sparkle in the eyes of despised men

Misguiding young minds towards wrong paths thru false advertisement

Youths sent to prison thinking it’s a “rite of passage” to reach manhood

Only to have their manhood taken in prisons packed tighter than can goods

Warped beliefs from hard headed individuals who refuse to link to real roots

Concrete walls trap strong minds from discovering the concealed truths

Rattling words, and in the music industry in todays decade it's rare to have this frame of mind.

How does one impact the world from standing on couch cushions and drinking alcohol, nightly.

As I've witnessed first hand many get lost in the lime light that this industry offers. Some of the best

intended individuals will loose themselves, even get lost on their own path.

Lavell "David Banner" Crump in my opinion is greatly under appreciated for his charity efforts.

2004: Banner personally funded his own scholarship contest which rewarded five students each $10,000

2005: Banners work in the Hurricane Katrina Relief alone raised upwards of 500,000 to help the hurricane survivors.

During the length of Banners Career he has supported the following charities to name a few, Stewpot Neighborhood Children's Program, Activism efforts for Haiti Hip-Hop Caucus, RedCross, Heal the Hood Foundation, California Disabled Veteran Business Alliance

He's mindblowing, pay attention to this man. Try and keep up. Beautiful mind, with more to share with the world. Under-rated music, and efforts put aside. Applaud the man.

The Streets – A woman personified as temptation & deception. The streets is a charector who is married to "The Game". She is represented as having a locket, with the key who she only hands out to a few. This key represents "The key to the streets." AKA – Money, fame, popularity.

The Game – Married to the Streets. The Game is a character personified as the hustlers game, the pimps game, etc. He is the skill & the brain behind certain "cool success". He is designed as a skull head, with dice eyes, & inhales/exhales crack smoke.

Plot -

Michael Young History (aka "The Cool") grows up with a tough life. He is abandoned by his father at a young age & struggles with life & school. The fact he has no father in his life is what hurts the most, despite having a young sister who cares for him & a hard working mother. Fed up with the struggles he is going through in life, he turns to "The Streets" & "The Game." The streets is personified as the lure & deception that is what the streets are, while her husband, the Game, personifies what is a hustle & a job. Such as, a pimps game, a hustlers game, an entrepreneurs game. In this case, The Game is the brain behind drug dealing. Both of these charectors take the place of guidance in Michael Young Historys life & he is now a drug dealer.

Over time, The Cool & The streets begin a love connection. She has a key to her, which is a key to the streets. The fortune, the fame, the glamour… The "Cool". She has given the key to some in the past, but gives it to him now.

Amongst all this success that The Streets & The Game have brought to The Cool, he once again goes through trouble.

The Game & The Cool are coming back from a club one night & stop so The Game can use the bathroom. While The cool is in the car (listening to the song The Cool), He is shot & killed.

It’s never revealed who killed The Cool. But, with the love affair going on between The Cool & The Streets, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was The Game. Especially since the song following The Cools death (The Die) is Put You on Game.

Michael Young History then is later buried & breaks free in The Cool. He journeys back (with a right hand of just bones because he has lost all righteousness) & goes back to where he was shot. The reason he is not dead in the 1st place & the reaosn for his quote at the ending of the song The Cool is basically because he was rejected by Heaven & to bad for Hell.

KanYe's G.O.O.D Fridays: G.O.O.D. Idea Or Bad?

KanYe's G.O.O.D. Friday started a few months back and fans went ecstatic over new Kanye West music that would lead all the way up to the release of his upcoming album. As the weeks rolled on Yeezy never disappointed, dropping a track every Friday, or early Saturday, as promised. Then something odd happened, the tracklist for Yeezy's upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy leaked, sporting 13 tracks, more than half of those tracks were used for G.O.O.D Friday. And when you add in the actual leaks of songs like Lost In The World, Hell Of A Life & a snippet of All Of The Lights, that leaves a total of 3 songs I haven't heard from the album and it doesn't drop for 3 more weeks. So you can see why some people might be bothered by such a decision to 'leak' your own music, but I believe this is one of the better things for Hip Hop.

The biggest downside when a song or album has leaked, is that the leak will take away from the lure of the final product, like the final version of a song, or it takes away from an album as a whole. To counter that, artists put out singles to promote their album, but as everybody knows albums aren't moving units these days. Did KanYe find the perfect counter? By leaking your own music you can dictate what's heard and when. You also can cut-down on others leaking your music because YOU supply the streets with the final product.

Some will say, why should they go out and buy an album when more than half of the songs were given away by the artist for free a full month before the release of the album? It's a fact the album would've leaked two weeks before it hit shelves anyway, so the fact you get some songs early due to the artist should only help you decide if you want to purchase the album, not give you the indication you shouldn't buy the album because it was given to you for "free".

Now I will ask the community, are you gonna go out and buy Yeezy's album even though he leaked most of the tracks and will the leaks take away from the final project when it finally drops?

The music industry, portrays an image of glitz and glam.

Reality is not a music video, and 90% of the people whom appear to have it all, truly have nothing compared to the rest of the world.

With all the Ghost Writers, Leased vehicles, loans, fake chains, phony posse's, paid off models, and comp'ed bottles...it's surprising people keep acting so surprised when they find out the object/person in question is in fact fraud. Really though?!?! Come on people, you think Rick Ross is the first to rock something less than authentic? Truth is, rappers bonuses aren't as big as you picture them. We're almost expecting too much. Or is that the industries blame, for originally portraying that image?

From my personal experiences, I've even found out that many of the Highest-Paid in the industry are sporting fake chains. & Their wifey's have the grade A knock off's aswell.
Part of it is hilarious, part is actually saddening. They wouldn't do it if they didn't have something to prove.

You're not touring, selling albums, giving speeches, producing, modeling, and you don't own any parts of your company. But some how you expect me to believe that you drive a lamborghini, and own a penthouse? Riggghhhhttttt. Sure buddy!

I know rich, I know wealthy, I know people with so much fucking money they don't even have to think for themselves. & You, Sir or Madam are not one of them, so why don't you save your funds, and give up that rental lambo, and year leased condo in soho.

I'm retouching this subject because I see more and more of the front daily, and no one really ends up saying... "It's okay, you don't have to be like that"

Personally I just want to hear good music again

At the end of the day, these rappers, athletes, actors, go home to the same things that most of us possess, if not less. They have their bored moments, and become adjusted to their lives, just as we have.

Spending all their money to just front the appearance of having money.

Selling themselves to the mainstreams wants and needs. Since when has being an artist lost the creative aspect. No one's making music to not be heard and the easiest way to be heard is to be on the radio, but you should never compromise who you are, your values or your morals.

And you know, art as commerce, doesn't really make too much sense, they don't go together. Art isn't meant to be mass produced. A lot of artists have turned into puppets of these major labels. Act this way, do this, wear that, go here, date them.

Even those who're trying to be "different" end up being the "same" at the end of the day. They're all trying to achieve one thing. "Success"! But what is you're definition of Success. It is when our vision of what make's us truly successful changes. Is wealth you're definition? Wasn't your first dream to share your music & art with the world? But not it's turned into the love for money, no longer the love for music.

MM4: A Turn For The Worst

Internet Soldiers! Even though we have yet to be given the constantly delayed album, Joe Budden still finds a way to please fans with the forth installment in his highly praised Mood Muzik series. Mood Muzik 4: A Turn For The Worst gives us another twisted view into the mind that is Joey. I must admit I have been waiting for this since I heard it would be a bit lighter in topic content, I wondered how exactly he would do that and stay true to the theme of the mixtape series. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Mouse gives us just what most fans have been craving a solid project. How is it that Joe continues to shoot down haters from all sides? It's easy to see that he is driven by the constant need to prove himself and MM4 is no exception!

Production – 8

Joey’s achilles heel as far as I am concerned is his beat selection. There are times where he makes good on a project, but for the most part I don’t always like his choices. The good thing is, he could rap over elevator music and his words would take over. For Mood Muzik 4 he does a better job of picking beats, but I have to belittle this part of the tape, if anything. J. Cardim produced the majority of the tracks and surprisingly the two have great chemistry together, but it’s just a shame that he didn’t do the entire thing. A few times the beat just seems like something that gets in the way of Budden’s story and there is nothing worse then wanting to change the track just because of the annoying samples and weak drums. Even with that said, the tape still does a great job of giving listeners something they can bump and vibe out to while driving or just relaxing around the crib.

Lyrics – 9

Is it the Shoes? Hah… nah but in all seriousness, this is why one listens to this dude. His ability to paint a picture with words is like only a few in the game. I find myself having to listen a few times just so I can catch all the double meanings and similes that are thrown around. Ranging from topics that we can all relate to, Joey is just real and bares it all. This has become a staple for him as a rapper, when listing you get a sense that he’s giving you everything he has on every track in every line and that is comforting. Don’t get me wrong, there are those times where I think to myself, “what the fuck is wrong with dude and why can’t he rap about something happier.” I like how his content is a bit more uplifting then previous Mood Muzik installments, but he stays true to himself and his series. This isn’t your dumb down’d type rap shit, so if you don’t have at least a bit of intelligence this along with the majority of Mouse’s music isn't for you.

Songs – 8.5

I have to admit that besides Halfway House or MM2, this might be my favorite collection of songs that Joe put together. I like the lack of features, and could have even done without Royce on Remember the Titans. It was a good track without him and his flow doesn’t fit in for me. Crook kills on Sober Up, and has a song stealing verse. Role Reversal, Welcome Real Life and If All Else Fails are just some of my favorite tracks on the tape. Having said all that,Come Alone, 1000 Faces and Inseparable just didn’t do it for me. I know the latter two are good tracks and demonstrate just how personal Mouse can get on a track, but to me all these were fillers and a 14 song track list would have pushed this up a bit higher. Another standout part of the tape was Emanny, fans have grown familiar of the R&B singer song writer who I hope continues to work with Joe to create even more amazing music.

Overall – 8.5

Now before you Internet soldiers get all hot and bothered by the lack of slobbering, remember that this is just a mixtape and Joey still owes us The Great Escape As a fan of Hip Hop, I am constantly asking for new music and never satisfied. This mixtape has quality music and plays out better then most albums. Skits and all, not more can be asked for. If you have to nit pick again the only thing I could not get over were the beats. Some might say forget the beat his word play is so good it out weighs the production, however to be extremely honest isn’t that why Joe isn’t on a major now? Anyway, I look forward to seeing some visuals from this project, and to see when I finally take it would of my CD changer. To be a Joe Budden fan, one has to have an acquired taste, he's not for everyone, and if you're one of the lucky ones that it actually is your mood, it can not get any better.

Even though many fans thought the Slaughterhouse move to Shady would've been a lot quicker and some fans may have even given up on the possibility of the deal, but Joe Budden has gone on record to confirm that the move will be happening in the near future.

"We are just about [signed to Shady Records]. It's so premature. It's four artists and a deal like that is just extremely complicated when you have four individual entities but the great thing about it is Em is just so passionate about Hip Hop" Joey explained to Power 105's DJ Envy. "Everything that this group was formed around, he is in 200 percent support of so shout-out to him as well. Late 2011 [our Shady Records debut will drop], I'll go on the record and say that."

Does Kanye Have the Power?

I've listened to the song "Power" at least 30 times, I'm actually listening to it as I write this piece and I have one question. Is he currently the best rapper in the game right now, excluding nobody?

Early Ye fans will tell you his first two albums The College Dropout & Late Registration is when he was at his hungriest, therefore at his best, I'm not one of those fans. I believe his last two albums was when he was at his most evolved, therefore at his best. I believe, arguably, his best album was Graduation. I'll try and explain: I feel Graduation was the point when KanYe started to venture further than conventional Hip Hop songs. A hungry KanYe West didn't have the clout to do it, or he would've been considered a KiD CuDi type of artist. But setting the stage as he did with his first two Hip Hop albums KanYe gave himself some room to explore with songs like Stronger & Flashing Lights. A song like Bittersweet isn't a hot rap song in my opinion, its a hot song. If he's not the best rapper in the game right now, he's definitely the best musician in Hip Hop.

4 albums in and Yeezy has found a way to stay relevant throughout the ever changing Hip Hop scene and has mantained commercial and critical acclaim the entire time. The only album of his that received any backlash was obviously 808's & Heartbreak, but in my opinion I believe it was a great album. Welcome 2 Heartbreak is one of the most thought-provoking R & B songs I've heard in this generation. To understand how difficult that album was, picture Trey Songz making a Hip Hop album. By my count Yeezy has two classic albums and two hot ones, thats almost an unpararelled career. Ye might have another classic on his hands.

So now I have two questions to ask. Is he the best rapper in the game right now & how high would you rate him on your all-time list, factoring in albums, success (which IS the goal of being a rapper, whether fans like to admit it or not) and skill?

Who Is Jay Z'S Sports Equivalent

Jay-Z’s MLB Equivalent: Derek Jeter

The choice for this sport was very difficult, especially with some of the similarities between Jay and the players in the game. Jeter stands out as a match for his winning attitude and swagger in which he plays the game with, almost intimidating to pitchers when at the plate as he is never afraid to crowd the plate and take one for the team. Jay-Z has done the same when battling rival MC’s working his way up to the status he is at now and never backing down from opponents as they try to lyrically out do him. I guess you can say a pitcher like Roy Halladay is what Jim Jones is to Jay-Z?

Jay-Z’s NBA Equivalent: LeBron James

I would have to be living under a rock for the past 5 years to not be able to see the equivalency of these two titans. Ever since LeBron came out and said that he was a big fan of Jay-Z; it has been a very interesting friendship that has caught the attention of both sports and music fans alike. James has been seen in several games holding up the Rocafella Records signature hand sign after big plays in respect to the hip hop legend. Jay-Z has returned the favor by having James' back when it comes to his issues with rival players even if it is in the form of a song. Besides the money and fame each has accumulated during their careers their most obvious equivalence could be in 2009? I mean isn’t Brooklyn still New York any way?

Jay-Z’s NFL Equivalent: Al Davis

OK, so maybe Jay-Z is not in his seventies but he still has a lot in common with longtime Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis. Davis’ unquenchable thirst for winning has been his trademark, as he will do anything necessary to win and will not care about the criticism. He has been attacked in the media by former players and coaches for his decisions, but nevertheless still continues to make moves without any regrets. Jay-Z has been criticized plenty of times by former artists that worked for him under Def Jam and still continued to go on with his plan. This head strong stubborn attitude and desire to be the best makes these two more of a match then an odd couple

Jay-Z’s NHL Equivalent: Sean Avery

This equivalence may be a little surprising to some but not those who really know the two individuals lifestyles. On Sports Center recently Avery did an interview and discussed his fascination with fashion and how he enjoys designing quite the opposite of what his hardcore hockey style shows on the ice. Jay-Z has been a co owner of his own clothing line and has been a trend setter of style in many communities whether it is Yankee fitted caps or collared button down shirts; he has the ability to still be viewed as both a fashion icon and a hardcore rap artist. These two are examples of why you cannot tell a book by its cover no matter how fashionable it may be.

World Issues vs. Gossip Media

I find myself becoming frustrated with the media, and what we have allowed it to become. No longer do I hear of anything of substance. It's as if world issues are no longer, and Celeb rivalry is the only thing in existence. How did we get here? Since when is Beyonce's new hair color the News highlight that we should all be discussing.

How is this resolved? It's not simple.

There is an overall focus of gossip in the Hip Hop Industry, rather then other issues which could have a great deal of effect on us, more so then Chris Browns Bow Tie.

It's not helping that we all play into this, "Girl did you see what Rihanna wore". Who can tell me about the status of the War in Iraq? Health Care? ...Anyone?

It's always been a little off kilter, but now things have progressively gotten worse. It's hard to grab the attention of our Youth especially when they can easily grab a hold of such a light topic that the media will offer.

I remember sitting in this High School office the other week, picking up my nephew who was sick. Hearing the Seniors speak was a little disturbing. Not one had anything of substance to speak of. Has it always been like this? Or am I just getting old...

I recall being aware of World issues, and not the latest Fashion DON'T that was captured on the Red Carpet.

I'm going to practice focusing on the positive parts of the Video Music awards show that took place last night, since 90% are purely going to focus on the negative "hot" topics. I felt the MJ Tribute was suiting, sincerely it was done in good taste. I actually felt what Madonna was saying, about him "feeling human". In a way we did all leave MJ and abandon him and pointed fingers. That's enough to drive anyone over the edge. It's truly sad that we as people use these figures in the media to highlight our days, and vent upon them as though they're deserving. Why not try and share some positive light on those in the spot light. Many of these people work insane hours and barely have lives so that we as people can speculate every damn wrong turn they take in their path. They are human just like you and I. Only difference is, when we make mistakes it isn't on the front page of every paper. P.S. Janet's Performance had to be hard for her to follow through with. She did good. We love you Janet :)

I'm not going to give Kanye's Ignorant Out Burst too much shine by focusing on him. It was arrogant, and wrong. He took away a special moment in a young girls life. Regardless of who she was, she's human, she's just a young kid, and the look in her eyes was sincerely horrid when this was going on. But it's all for the media right Kanye? You've got your 30 seconds of my time, now...moving on.

I do how ever, commend Beyonce for being a class act and having Taylor come on stage with you. She herself described how she felt when she recieved her first VMA. Truly impressed by how you handled this B.

This disturbed me quite a bit. I believe I understood the point, I probably would have gotten it more if someone else who wasn't purely looking to have the shock value attention did it. I get the message. But I just can't say it settled well in my stomach. Kind of freaked me out. Seriously.

Venture into the mind of an abstract writer.

Some time's one listens to music for therapeutic reasons. Like myself, sometimes it helps me almost escape from reality. Have you ever felt like this? Lyric's painting pictures in my head, almost like watching a movie. This movie is entirely made from my imagination. Calming, out of body experience. Abstract thinkers, should be able to relate. Listening to an instrumental over and over, can almost hypnotize someone. The melody bouncing around in my mind like a pinball game, and I've beat the high score. No longer aware of what is reality but escaping and all I hear is an unwritten melody, with half steps and half notes.

I am a writer, though sometimes my mind spews stanza's out faster then my memory will allow to stay. I wish I could record my thoughts. How many masterpieces are being thrown away? How can I let it out, if forever it will stay...? I feel as if my creativity tugs the very laws of gravity, but all ends up falling down, masterpiece or not.

Words only kill in the hand of a practiced writer.

Do I write for freedom, or just a moment of escaping... Will it ever free me, cinematic memories will forever haunt me. All I can do it tell the story, hope you'll feel it, and move on to the next not so fairy-tale poem. But will you think it's all a facade? Sometimes I myself, hope I made this reality up. I must be warped.

They don't understand. They never do.

"She's crazy" he yells louder then ever imaginable. Maybe I am. So? What exactly is sanity? Define it and maybe I can find it.

to deal with reality today

trying to converse with a stranger.

I'd drown in mainstream
so grunge it is.

Clean cut culture is a little too organized,
and pop music + mascara doesn't = pop rock
or emo, or red carpet diary confessions...
'cause we've all heard it before--
recited thoughts to thumping hearts
and swore we'd never say a word.
then commend someone else
for exposing private insights.

Yet I continue to write what I write,
walk with the same foot forward
and run with my ideas

Hip Hop Saved Me.

I often get asked, "What got you so into Hip-Hop" simply because those who don't truly love the Art of Expression will never quite understand. Hip Hop is not just "music" Hip Hop is a culture, a movement. Something birthed from all of us. To some, it's whats blasting on their radios. To others, it's inside of us, it stays with us daily. It cannot be turned down or muted, paused or skipped. What about those who profess their love for Hip Hop but can not deliver the love to actually contribute much to it.

Have you taken the time to learn? Have you looked deep into the roots of "Hip Hop" ? You claim you love it, get to know it...

If it were left up to the blogs & gossip, we'd be left to think love cannot exist in this industry, amongst two. What about if both "lovers" are artists? It seems to almost make it worse off for them.

With Nas's Divorce & Child Support Settlement to Kelis being $44,000 - that's over $1,400 a day![ Quite frankly, that's a LOT of fucking $$ ]

What about the reigning King & Queen of the music industry Jay-Z & Beyonce? All seems well, but we never saw any signs

from Nas & Kelis either. Nor did we see the fall of Rihanna and Chris Brown, coming our way.

With all the Infidelity that's accepted throughout the Hip Hop Community especially I'm surprised anyone would even think of getting "hitched".

Big figure incomes + a Spot light watching your every move. Cheating becomes quite obvious, and if it isn't I'm sure their paying beautiful amounts to make sure their secrets are safe with those whom have the ability to expose them.

That brings me onto another topic... What's with the newly found acceptance of adulteration? Are they not human just like you and I? Why is it that, it's acceptable for a wealthy man to have an affair but not the "average joe" ?

This question, I ask myself this for too personal

of reasons to bring up. You see true love blossoming before you, if you open your eyes to it, on the floor of the matter. If you're actually in the industry you'll see the dirt underneath the rug . There is quite a bit, might I add. But WE ALL know this! Why do we act so shocked? Seriously!?!

I say people should watch what Oprah's doing AND DATE! lol. Don't get married. Especially if you're planning on cheating.

Mickey Factz

Mickey Factz is by far one of the most interesting new editions to the Rap Game. For only being in this industry a short amount of time he's quite successful with getting himself out there for the world to see.

WHAT!?!?Haven't heard of Mickey Factz? He's another artist born & raised in no other then the Bronx, NY! But nothing is typical about this young talent.

Shortly after leaving New York University law school to focus on music full-time, a buzz was created. Sooner then expected we were introduced to Mickey with the "In Search of the N.E.R.D.," mixtape. Which was a medley of songs from which Mickey first blessed us with his unique lyrical talent over Pharrell's Music Group N.E.R.D. No less than a year later the blogs were buzzing about Mickey's "Flashback," which was shortly followed by the critically acclaimed "Heaven's Fallout."

Those of us who knew Mr. Factz were silently, loudly, insanely, just waiting. WAITING FOR WHAT? For something big. SOMETHING HUGE! This Bronx-Bred New Schooler had something different, something about his energy. We were waiting for his success story.

In the dawn of 2008, every blog-site, Hip-Hop Website, Myspace page, had some posting or other of "Mickey Factz" Weekly songs were being posted called "The Leak." On "The Leak Vol. 1" and "The Leak Vol. 2," Fuel just being added onto his fire, he was getting hot, the TWEETS were talking! Soon everyone had heard "Automatic" or "Incredible". Quickly he went from a meager 100 downloads, per posting. To almost 10,000 downloads. He had to of been doing something right. RIGHT?

Doing something write indeed, soon Factz would be placed on the Cover of XXL's December issue as part of its annual top 10 up-and-coming feature, but it didn't stop there soon a Honda Accord Camp

ign was put on the table for Mr. Factz. Yet again more of a buzz was created. At this point many were thirsty for a

taste of what ever came next from Mickey. 2009 Mickey was on his grind, with the commercial and magazine out, he was soon at every music conference and major industry event going.

New School Hip Hop?

Needless to say we've introduced some interesting characters these past few years to the world. Some quite talented , others quite abstract, and some that were just plain out "what the fuck".

These new school artists are fighting and striving to make it in this industry, which is tricky. Especially with the average rate of album sales lower then they've ever been. Many of us find it so much simpler to click twice on our laptops and upload the albums sometimes weeks before the actual album release. Yet we claim to support these artists?

We aren't purchasing concert tickets anymore, like we used to. Touring is minimum. Cities are being cut out of the line up. It's quite sad. We protest our love for music but cannot support our love? Why is this? What are your thoughts...

Who has came out this year that you've supported? Who are you assuming will flop? What underground artists are you hoping will make it mainstream?
